Welcome to Scripture Scribe. These terms ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Straight Truth Press, LLC ("we," "us") covering your use of the Scripture Scribe app, website, and related services (together, "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The Service

Scripture Scribe is a Bible study assistant that records audio, transcribes it, generates structured study notes, and lets you optionally share notes with members of your congregation. Features and pricing are described on our home page and may evolve over time.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; users between 13 and 18 should have a parent or guardian's involvement, especially around recording and sharing features.

Acceptable use

When you use Scripture Scribe, you agree not to:

• Record any person without the consent required by the laws of your jurisdiction.
• Upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that incites violence.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
• Attempt to extract, scrape, or reverse-engineer the AI model behavior, the API endpoints, or any account other than your own.
• Use the Service to generate content that violates the terms of our underlying AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic), including content that promotes self-harm, contains child sexual abuse material, or describes how to make weapons.
• Bypass any usage limits, security controls, or rate limits.

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

User-generated content and shared studies

When you mark a study as shared, the title, theme, scripture references, outline, takeaways, application questions, memory verse, prayer focus, announcements, prayer requests, and class discussion become visible to other accounts that have connected to the same congregation name. You retain ownership of your content; you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and (within the app) share that content with other authorized users solely to operate the Service. You can un-share or delete any study at any time.

You can also Block any user from the congregation feed; their shared studies stop appearing in your library immediately.

AI-generated content

Scripture Scribe uses third-party AI services to transcribe audio (OpenAI Whisper) and generate study notes (Anthropic Claude). AI output can occasionally contain errors, hallucinated scripture references, or content that doesn't reflect what was actually said. Always verify AI-generated content against your own Bible and your own judgment before relying on it. The app flags references that don't match the Biblical Standard Version with a warning, but the responsibility for accuracy rests with you.

Pricing and subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Current pricing is published on the home page and inside the app. Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google respectively and are governed by their terms in addition to these. You may cancel at any time through your App Store / Play Store subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Intellectual property

The Scripture Scribe name, logo, app design, and code are the property of Straight Truth Press, LLC. The Biblical Standard Version (BSV) text is © Straight Truth Press, LLC and used in the app under license. You may not redistribute the BSV text outside the app's normal export functions or remove copyright notices from exports.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Subscription features that become unavailable will be refunded on a prorated basis if applicable.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose, including teaching, preaching, or theological study. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from the Library panel inside the app. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that abuse the Service in ways that risk us being unable to continue offering it.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lubbock County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify active users by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
